There’s not a lot to say about pacifiers. Just a couple points:

  • Babies can be picky about pacifiers. Don’t force one on a baby who doesn’t want one.
  • Make sure the ones you use are age-appropriate and dentist-recommended so they don’t interfere with development of teeth.
  • If you are breastfeeding, try to avoid using a pacifier for the first few weeks. This will help establish a good milk supply by having the baby pacify on you and will also help to avoid nipple preference.
