There are certain tricks to store and sale-shopping that we have discovered. Here are a few of the things we have learned about a few stores that can help you save money and maximize registry perks.
I always thought Carter’s was an expensive store until I realized the major sales, coupons, and rewards available.
NEVER buy anything at Carter’s full price. They always have their staple 20% off a purchase of $40 coupon (this excludes doorbusters and clearance BUT watch out for the sale they have once a year where this coupon DOES INCLUDE doorbusters and clearance. Stock up when this happens!)
Some additional good news is if you keep your Carter’s receipts (organizational skills required) they will happily exchange for the correct size if say, your baby has a major growth spurt and skips all size 6 months. Or if you chose the wrong size for seasonal wear.
Put all items for your baby on your registry if you choose to register at Babies R Us. Even ones you are going to be purchasing yourself. Their registry rewards are actually awesome! We ended up with around a $300 gift card doing this. This is a gift card, not a coupon–free money! Once your registry purchases hit a certain amount, they start giving you a percentage back of remaining purchases.
If you have a Buy Buy Baby in the same city as your Babies R Us, then Babies R Us will accept Buy Buy Baby or Bed Bath & Beyond coupons, if they are not expired. Babies R Us is really good about accepting their competitor’s coupons.
Buy Buy Baby also will accept competitor’s coupons. Their registry rewards include a gift basket when you register with samples and coupons and a completion program that offers coupons or discounts for remaining items on your registry. They also have a referral program that gives you $25 off any in-store purchase of $100+, for every friend you refer that creates a baby registry or even a bridal registry at Bed Bath & Beyond.
Who doesn’t love Target? They have some registry perks as well in the form of coupon gifts and a registry completion 15% off.
Most baby clothing stores have some form of a rewards program. So, once you figure out which store best suites your needs, take advantage of their rewards program.
